AVIATED BY DEVIATIONS
Aviated by Deviations depicts my experience as a “flâneur” in the Hamra area in Beirut. “Flâneur” is a term initially proposed by the French poet Baudelaire in the 19th century that refers to a person who takes pleasure in observing the urban city and the crowds while strolling; such walks allow profoundly personal and introspective moments. I wandered around the same block in circles always starting from the same point, recording the neighborhood’s characteristics and people that I consequently became familiar with. Along the way, I encountered a number of factors that urged me to deviate from my initial path changing my direction and narrative. Hence, I took notes of the elements that guided my walk, my surroundings and emotions.
